The setup fee is zero, and that’s on purpose
Voice-agent platforms serving the Québec market have been charging onboarding fees anywhere from $999 US to $3,000 CAD (observed July 15–16, 2026). We charge nothing to get you live: configuring your agent — your hours, your services, your call-handling rules, your test call — is part of the plan you’re already paying for.
Our reasoning is blunt: an AI receptionist should start earning its keep before you pay a cent for setup.
Priced in Canadian dollars, cheque-clearing simple
Some platforms in this market quote their prices in US dollars (observed July 15, 2026). Your real bill then floats with the exchange rate — and it always lands higher than the number in the ad. VoiceX prices are in Canadian dollars, taxes extra: what you see on this page, overage included, is what comes out of your account.
Every plan also ships with the bilingual voice — hear it for yourself — and with call recordings hosted in Montréal, which matters more than most vendors let on: we explain why on the Law 25 page.
Frequently asked questions
How fast can it go live?
Same day, if you want. You create your account, the agent drafts its setup from your website, you look it over, then you get your number and forward your calls to it. No months-long implementation project, no setup fee. Honestly, the longest step is usually picking the voice.
Can it keep my current phone number?
Yes. The simplest route is forwarding your existing number to your VoiceX line — a two-minute change with most carriers, reversible anytime. You can also port your number over to us entirely. Either way, your customers keep dialing the number they already know, and nothing changes on their end.
Can it answer only after hours, or only when I miss a call?
Yes — you decide, using call forwarding on the line you already have. Forward every call to the agent, forward only the calls you don’t pick up after a few rings, or switch forwarding on when you close and off when you open; it’s one code to dial. Busy-line forwarding exists too, but the code varies by carrier. Our free tool gives you the codes for Bell, Vidéotron, Rogers, Telus, Fizz, Koodo, Fido, Freedom and Public Mobile.
Can it make outbound calls too?
Yes — to your own customers. From the Affaires plan up, the agent can confirm appointments, make reminder calls and follow up; the Performance plan adds calling campaigns. What it won’t do is cold-call: the CRTC closely regulates automated calls, and we follow its rules.
Is this the same as a live answering service?
Not quite. An answering service mostly takes messages; the agent can act during the call — book the appointment in your calendar, confirm it by text, transfer to the right number — at 3 a.m. as easily as at noon. A person is still better at delicate situations that call for judgment, which is exactly why the agent hands those calls to you.
